Unveil the Secrets of Claridge’s ArtSpace Café

London’s food scene has become a bit sweeter since the opening of Claridge’s ArtSpace Café in the iconic Claridge’s Hotel. Nestled on Brook Mews Street, with its own entrance, this café quickly becomes a must-visit destination for foodies and pastry lovers. Simple in style, the café offers a few tables and a large communal table in the middle, perfect for those who enjoy a cozy yet communal dining experience. Downstairs, an art gallery with changing themes throughout the year adds an artistic touch to your visit.

Chic and Modern Ambiance

The café’s style is exquisite and modern, exuding a Scandinavian feel that is quite cool but not lacking in charm. The design is simple but undeniably chic, making the café the perfect spot for an indulgent breakfast or a leisurely lunch. The hidden cutlery, cleverly concealed in a drawer underneath the table, ensures a neat and uncluttered dining experience, allowing the food to take center stage.

ArtSpace Café’s Delightful Menu Offerings

The café offers uncomplicated food, including sandwiches, eggs, and cakes. The cakes are a highlight, known for their generous portions and modern flavors reminiscent of those found in Parisian pâtisseries. Priced at only £12 – £14 per slice, the cakes are affordable for all. The café’s pastry chef previously worked at Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, ensuring the quality of the cakes and pastries is exceptional. The sweet pastries, from simple viennoiseries to signature items like the Tahiti vanilla cake, are all of a high standard.

Breakfast offerings are delightful and varied. Whether it’s a simple dish like scrambled eggs in a croissant or an omelette with your choice of fillings, there’s something to satisfy every palate. Bagels are also available, with delicious avocado and halloumi or roast beef with mustard, gherkins, and cheddar. From the ever-changing sandwiches, the croque monsieur is a staple. It always impresses me, but I also enjoyed the brie and mushroom open sandwich. The galettes, large in portion and served with a side salad, are a meal unto themselves.

Gourmet Bliss Awaits

Despite the chic and minimalist design, ArtSpace Café offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Some areas that could be enhanced include minimizing long waits, providing more attentive service, and ensuring a smoother dining experience for guests.

Although the service can sometimes be improved, I always feel at home here. Claridge’s ArtSpace Café is a haven for those who love good food and great ambiance. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick breakfast or a leisurely lunch, this café is a perfect destination for those looking to indulge in delicious food and pastries in a serene and elegant space.
